Breast cancer touches many lives across New Zealand. Every year, around 3,500 women and 25 men are diagnosed with this disease. Sadly, more than 650 women lose their battle with breast cancer annually. Despite these daunting figures, there is hope. Thanks to advancements in detection and treatment, the survival rate for breast cancer is now about 85% over ten years, and it rises to 95% if detected early through screening mammograms (Breast Cancer Foundation NZ).
Our Pink Ribbon event aims not only to raise funds but also to increase awareness and support for those affected by breast cancer. Last year, we raised over $8,000, and this year, we aim to surpass that with your help. Join us on Sunday, 26 May 2024, at the Otematata's Best Dam Pub for a day filled with community spirit, delicious food, and engaging activities. We have an exciting lineup of auctions and raffles with amazing items, and your participation could help save lives by funding essential research and support services.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps in the fight against breast cancer. Whether you're bidding in the auction, buying raffle tickets, or spreading the word, you're providing invaluable support. Early detection saves lives, and by coming together, we can ensure more women are breast-aware and have access to life-saving screenings.
Make sure you bring your husbands, partners or kids.
